Apprenticeship training 'is paying off'
People taking part in apprenticeship training in North Wales are finding the initiative is paying off, it has been claimed.
Wales Online reports that sister schemes attempting to maintain the level of such training in the region is paying dividends.
The website noted the Pathways to Apprenticeships is an Assembly Government project that sees courses putting learners in a healthier position to gain employment as a result of the intensive full-time learning programmes.
Students who enrolled on the engineering course were able to secure apprenticeships with a number of high-profile companies, such as Airbus and Corus.
Learner James Bruce said of the course: "Without it I don’t think I would have secured an apprenticeship with a firm like Corus. I can't wait to get started."
Sarah Clover, sales and marketing director at notgoingtouni.com, recently claimed employers in the UK are increasingly looking for candidates who possess practical work experience and hands-on training.
