Those hoping to find work in London need to ensure they can back up any claims they make on their CVs, an industry figure has said.
Peter Panayotou, founder and senior consultant at the Write Stuff, said that anybody can state they have a certain set of skills, however, it carries little weight if there is no evidence to support their statements.
He stated that one problem is that candidates hoping to find work in London have to strike a balance between keeping the document concise and to-the-point and fitting in sufficient information about their abilities and achievements.
"What tends to happen a lot with some CVs is that you've got people who will make a claim about them being capable of doing something without necessarily providing the evidence and that can be a problem," Mr Panayotou added.
According to a study by GfK Custom Research, 58 per cent of workers aged between 18 and 29 are actively looking for a new job, or will be within six months.
