E-learning 'is becoming more popular in the electrical industry'
E-learning is growing in popularity
E-learning is being increasingly employed to provide training for those beginning a career in the electrical industry, it has been claimed.
Iain Macdonald, head of education and training at the Electrical Contractors' Association, said that while more organisations are using such solutions, it has not had a wide-ranging impact on the sector thus far.
The expert commented: "E-learning is becoming more popular, but it is starting from a low baseline, so its impact is not yet widespread."
Mr Macdonald noted that it is one of a number of options training providers can employ to educate the next generation of electrical industry workers.
Among the advantages are the flexibility it allows for both teachers and pupils and the consistency of delivery, he went on to add.
David Guralnick, president of the International E-Learning Association, said recently that the motivation of students is not a problem providers need to concern themselves with.
