Enjoy Plymouth's natural environment on cultural tours of the UK

Plymouth boasts a wonderful natural environment

There is plenty for those on cultural tours of the UK to take in on a visit to Plymouth, it has been claimed.

Duncan Currall, chair of Destination Plymouth, said that no matter what holidaymakers want, the city has something to cater to all tastes.

He highlighted the shopping facilities and diverse cultural scene as just two of the attractions that make it such a special place.

"Without doubt though, the city's best asset is the quality of its natural environment and its breath-taking scenery," Mr Currall said.

He added that Plymouth Hoe, which overlooks the harbour, is one of the biggest attractions and something visitors must include in their itinerary.

Those on cultural tours of the UK can take in a number of other sites and venues, including the Mount Edgcumbe House and Gardens, the National Marine Aquarium and Plymouth Pavilions.

In addition, the Plymouth Gin distillery may appeal to visitors, as might the Mayflower exhibition.
