Facebook page launched to support WorldSkills competitors

The organisers of the WorldSkills 2011 event have created a facebook page for people to show their support for the international teams competing at the event.

WorldSkills 2011 is world’s the biggest international skills competition, with young people from across the globe competing to be named the best at their particular trade.

The facebook page is a forum for people from the countries taking part in the event to post messages of support for their representatives.

150,000 expected visitors at WorldSkills will see 1,000 competitors from more than 50 countries/regions competing in 46 skill areas over four days of competition.

Visitors to the event can sample dozens of skills ranging from electronics to plumbing, web design and fashion to cabinet making.

The purpose of the show is to raise awareness of the opportunities offered by skilled professions and to inspire future generations to pursue a path towards skilled work.
