Firms could offer internships in London to create balanced workforce
Work experience opportunities are available in the City
Companies in the capital may find they will benefit significantly should they offer internships in London to young people.
That is because, in the opinion of Rachel Krys, director of Inclusive Employers, a mix of ages when it comes to staff is desirable.
While she admitted older employees have many advantages and can often create a calm and settling feeling around an organisation, youthful workers come with many plus points too.
"You need people with new thoughts. People who haven't done it before are not restricted by past failures; people who haven't failed before are much more willing to take a risk," explained Ms Krys.
Creating internships in London may be an effective way of getting those at the start of their careers and ready to make an impact on board.
Chancellor George Osborne last week announced in the Budget that he is to make £7.6 billion available for the training of people aged between 16 and 19.
