Georgia students 'prefer university in the UK' for exchange programmes
The UK is a popular choice for US students
Students from Georgia are most likely to select the UK as their preferred location for an exchange, it has been revealed.
Research carried out by The Financial found that 57 per cent of the students surveyed would like to come to university in the UK as part of an exchange programme, with locations in the US or Germany proving to be the next most popular choices.
According to respondents, countries such as the UK offer "the best quality education and conditions of accommodation".
Miranda Tkabladze, head of the international relations department at Caucasus University in Georgia, noted that the establishment has a number of partner agreements with other universities around the world.
Speaking to the publication, she explained that the exchange programme is open to students in their senior year of study who have met specific academic requirements.
The University of Chester is one of the British establishments with links to the Georgian institution and also offers places to students from countries such as Canada, Italy and the United Arab Emirates.
