Good news for students looking for university entry in the UK?
People considering university entry in the UK may be encouraged by the news that one educational institution is confident in its future despite the impact of spending cuts.
Speaking to EDP24, Norwich University College for the Arts principal professor John Last said he believes the institution, which has been involved with the city for 165 years, should continue to "thrive in a less regulated marketplace".
"We have oversubscribed courses, high levels of student satisfaction and an excellent record of students securing jobs," he stated.
Mr Last's comments come after a report by the University and College Union noted the establishment would to be one of the places of study that is hit hardest by cuts to funding.
However, he stated that the courses offered by the institution are exciting and link directly to economic needs - and believes the findings are "deeply flawed".
Earlier this week, a partnership between McDonalds and Manchester Metropolitan University led to the rolling out of a foundation degree that allows employees at the fast-food chain to study towards a business operations and management studies qualification while gaining practical experience.
