Those seeking work experience in the UK may find they are in big demand if they have skills useful in the green industries sector.
Britain has a shortage of people trained in the way needed to help its renewable energy provision grow, according to spokesman for the Centre for Alternative Technology Alex Randall.
"The lack of people with the necessary skills is actually a bigger problem than resource depletion when it comes to moving to a zero carbon society," he remarked.
Mr Randall argued training up more people with the skills to help the industry grow should be a "priority" for the government if this problem is to be overcome in the years ahead.
