Visitors on cultural tours of the UK will find plenty in the way of sport to enjoy on a trip to Liverpool.
That is according to a spokeswoman for VisitLiverpool, who stated that the wider region of the city has an abundance of events and attractions to explore.
She highlighted St Helens rugby league club, which recently enjoyed its last season at Knowsley Road, its ground for the last 120 years.
The team will move to a purpose-built 18,000-seater stadium for the next campaign, with the turnstiles opening in December.
In addition, those on cultural tours of the UK can see some of the world's top football players take to the pitch at Anfield and Goodison Park.
"Watch a football match or take a stadium tour at one of the city's two Premier League clubs, Liverpool and Everton," the representative added.
Those who take in a game at Anfield can see the likes of Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt display their skills for the Reds, while Everton boast players such as Louis Saha and Phil Neville.
