More opportunities for people seeking work experience in the UK?

Foreign students looking for work experience in the UK may find there are more opportunities available to them after one engineering giant announced it is making a major investment in its Scottish base.

An article in the Scotsman reports that Mitsubishi intends to make a major investment in the Lothians, which could lead to the creation of 200 jobs within the next five years.

A £100 million investment will lead to the creation of a new facility in the area, which will carry out research into offshore wind turbine equipment.

"This is a real vote of confidence in innovation in our renewables sector and I am delighted that the potential of this technology has been recognised by a major global player," said Colin Hood, chief operating officer at Scottish and Southern Energy.

Last week, People's Daily Online reported that as an alternative to sending individuals from the country to study pure theory, China is considering placing them within US governmental departments to gain work experience.
