'Strong focus on international students' at Leeds Metropolitan University

Published: 25/11/2010

There has been a rise recorded in the number of Chinese students studying in America

Leeds Metropolitan University delivers courses to foreign students all around the world and enjoys partnerships with organisations including the Sino-British college in Shanghai and the Vocational Training College of Hong Kong.

According to the institution, its strong international focus will be reflected in the number of students from overseas who will graduate from the Faculty of Business and Law tomorrow (November 26th).

Learners from over 40 different countries are currently taking part in courses offered by Leeds Metropolitan, with high numbers of individuals coming from China, Norway and many African nations.

November has seen the establishment celebrate the 30th anniversary of its partnership with Zhejiang University of Technology College of Business Administration in China.

The faculty has also developed links with a consortium of Turkish higher education institutions, which will allow students from Turkey to combine study in their own country and at Leeds Metropolitan.

Earlier this week, People's Daily Online reported that China is considering sending some individuals to gain work experience in US governmental departments, as an alternative to studying pure theory.
