The winner of the International Student of the Year 2011 competition has been announced at a ceremony in London

James Xi Xu won £2000 after coming first in the competition designed to celebrate the achievements and contributions of international students studying in the UK.

James’ success was announced at a glamorous ceremony hosted by TV presenter Angelica Bell and Radio One DJ Nihal.

Awards were also presented to the 12 winners of the competition’s regional categories. Each of the regional winners was given £1000 and James took home a further £1000 due to his success in the overall award.
