Universities minister keen for English students to go abroad
The new system will be more advantageous
Those planning UK university entry should have the option to study abroad at some point, the universities minister has claimed.
Speaking at a Westminster Education Forum, David Willetts stated that he is keen for British institutions to establish bases in other countries and give their students the opportunity to carry out some of their course overseas, the BBC reports.
He said there needs to be greater recognition of qualifications that would allow students to build up credits for their British degree at a university based abroad.
"That may be a way in which we see rather more British students studying abroad," the news provider reports the minister as saying.
Sophie Chamings, press officer for the Exam Results Helpline at Ucas, said recently that two new helplines launched by the organisation will be able to assist those preparing UK university entry applications with a wealth of information which could help them.
