Students have a significant role to play in helping the UK to fully recover from the global recession, it has been suggested.
Research by business insurance provider Hiscox recently showed young adults believe academic achievement is the biggest factor when it comes to predicting future success, with creative thinking, networking skills and risk taking other important characteristics.
Furthermore, the survey showed graduates admire young entrepreneurs, with 82 per cent stating they had gone on to found some of the best firms in the world.
Commenting on the fact the recession does not seem to have dented graduates' ambitions to make it in the business world, John King, entrepreneurship careers adviser at University of London's Careers Group, said: "Student entrepreneurs have a critical role to play in the UK's recovery from recession. If we are to succeed as a nation, we will need more successful businesses … which originate from students."
He added careers services have been impressed in recent times in the resilience shown by budding entrepreneurs in the face of a demanding economic climate.
