Twin English Centres update - new courses for 2014
Twin English Centres are launching a number of exciting new courses for 2014, with the aim of being able to meet individual students’ needs. Whether a student wants to learn English for a particular purpose, for example to gain the IELTS qualification, is working towards improving in a specific area, such as conversation, or needs to attend classes around prior commitments, Twin English Centres have a suitable course. All the new courses are available in London, and all can be participated in year-round and are part-time courses, apart from Parent & Junior English.
All English courses include access to Twin’s unique online learning platform, Twin e-Learning, (TeL), which is designed to adapt to a student’s needs and allows learners to create personalised study plans. Students have access to this learning tool until 3 months after they have completed any programme, so they can continue to practise English even after they have left the UK.
Parent & Junior English
The Parent and Junior English course will be on offer this summer between June 30th and August 29th, for any parents wanting to come and experience the UK with their child and learn English at the same time. Parents are taught in classes with other adults covering all areas of the language, with a focus on improving fluency and confidence in speaking, and juniors are taught through fun and games with other children. The programme is open to all abilities and the course can be taken for any duration between one week and the full two months.
Conversation classes involve discussions, role-plays and debates focussed on interesting topics such as current affairs, food and films. This speaking practice allows students to improve their fluency and pronunciation, and also expand their vocabulary. There are courses available to cater for elementary through to advanced English speakers.
Au Pair English
The Au Pair part-time English course has been designed to fit around an au pair’s work commitments, as classes run three mornings per week. Classes cover listening, speaking, reading and writing but focus on fluency during conversation through discussions helpful in everyday situations. Twin’s social programme, available to all students studying English with Twin, allows au pairs to make international friends in London.
Twin English Centres already offer a General English plus IELTS Preparation course, however, for those who cannot commit to the 23 hour per week programme, or who simply want to prepare for the exam without the General English lessons, an IELTS preparation only programme of 8 hours per week has been introduced.
