More work experience opportunities may become available to technology students following the announcement that Sony are creating 50 new jobs at one its factories.
The Japanese electronics firm is making a £2 million investment into its centre which is located in Pencoed, Bridgend with the majority of the vacancies set to become available in January.
Currently, around 500 people are employed at the plant, which the business says has been "inundated with orders from major broadcasting organisations throughout Europe".
Steve Dalton, managing director of the factory, said: "Securing this latest investment is great news for the future of the Pencoed site."
He added that the investment demonstrates the strategic importance of the facility to Sony.
Posts that have become available at the facility includes roles as engineers, technicians and operators.
Last week, an article in the Scotsman reported that engineering firm Mitsubishi intends to make a major investment in the Lothians, which could lead to the creation of 200 jobs within the next five years.
