Twin's London English Centre sails through British Council inspection

After undergoing our British Council inspection in September last year, we are proud to announce that our English centre in London passed with flying colours.

The inspection report revealed that an impressive six areas of strength were noted for staff management, student administration, quality assurance, premises and facilities, learning resources and course design.  This positive outcome follows our move from Lewisham in July 2015 to our state-of-the-art school within the Greenwich Centre.

School Principal, Sarah Morse, commented on the results: “This really shows how far we have come in the last four years.

“We have gone from one individual strength, to 30 individual strengths, resulting in six overall areas of strength.”

The school is set within an impressive building, which is contemporary in design, and has a large social area, computers for work and study and free Wi-Fi. The Greenwich Centre is also home to a gym and swimming pool of which students can obtain a membership, as well as a public library and café, which students have access to during their time at Twin.

Our London English Centre uses the communicative teaching method and teachers make use of the school’s modern technologies and electronic teaching aids so that students have an authentic learning experience. Nowadays, most communication is done via speaking and listening and the lessons at Twin reflect this, providing students with an opportunity to experience a modern method of teaching that they may not necessarily have at home.

Additionally, the school encourages students to use their phones and tablets, where applicable, to mirror the usage of today's technology in everyday life and to make lessons more engaging and interactive. The report noted that the majority of the classrooms contain new digital projectors and computers and that most teachers had an engaging and authoritative classroom presence.

Mrs Morse added: “This is testimony to the hard work of the whole English Centres team. I’m extremely proud and happy to be able to share these results.”
